Dialogue held with Malaysia businesses

BIDA has co-organised a webinar with Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) to attract new investments from Malaysia on Sept 8.

Bangladesh’s 9th largest FDI source, Malaysia has FDI Stock worth $806 million.

While addressing the potential investors, BIDA chief mentioned that Bangladesh was accelerating Doing Business reforms and expanding the online One Stop Service.

He highlighted the strength of the Bangladesh economy and offered full-scale facilitation.

The sectors with existing Malaysian FDI are telecommunication, computer software and IT and textile. H.E. Amir Farid Abu Hasan, Acting High Commissioner of Malaysia and H. E. Md. Shahidul Islam, High Commissioner of Bangladesh both addressed the meeting. BEZA, BEPZA, and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority talked about investment opportunities in economic zones, export processing zones and hi-tech parks, while PPPA emphasized on investment in infrastructure.
