Honouring the Father of the Nation

BIDA has observed the National Mourning Day 2020 by coming together for prayers and discussion aimed at honouring the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was martyred on Aug 15, 1975 along with many members of his family. The event organized on Aug 17 was held virtually due to restrictions posed by the pandemic. Dr. Ahmad Kaikaus, Principal Secretary to HPM, joined the meeting through a video link. Describing Bangabandhu as an epic hero, BIDA Executive Chairman paid tribute to the martyrs of the Aug 15 assassination. “On our darkest day, we remember our brightest light. Our deepest respect, we offer to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the members of his family.” All members of BIDA’s Executive Council, the BIDA Secretary and Directors participated in the discussion.
